Sports Based Alternative Provision
We are a part time sports based alternative provision. We also deliver bespoke mentoring and coaching programmes.
Education
Our curriculum contains the following subjects:
Mathematics, ICT, Life Skills, Careers and Enterprise, Numeracy and Literacy.
We provide 1-1 and group tuition to children and young people in Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4.
Bespoke Packages
We work to re-engage young people who have poor attendance or Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA). We plan and deliver bespoke CPD and training packages to schools based on their requirements.
Alternative Provision
• Part time Alternative Provision based in Salford
• We are open every day of the week term time only, 09:30 - 14:00 (request a copy of the provision calendar for exact dates)
• We work on a referral system whereby young people are referred to us on a daily agreement (minimum 2 days per week and maximum 4 days per week) (request a copy of the referral form)
• A typical day at our alternative provision will include; Maths, Numeracy, English, Literacy, PSHE, ICT, Life skills, careers and multi sports.
• Homework will be set once a week
• Breakfast and lunch will be provided
• Innovation Education staff work closely with the young person's school and will provide regular updates to ensure that our young people thrive and meet their full potential.
• There will be two careers events every academic year that young people and their families can attend.
• Every young person will receive a free uniform consisting of a t-shirt and hoody.
1-1 or Group Tutoring
• We provide onsite 1-1 or group teaching based on the individual needs of the young person.
• We provide remote 1-1 or group teaching based on the individual needs of the young person.
• Our qualified Teachers can cover a range of National Curriculum subjects for both Secondary and Primary aged children and young people, including Mathematics and English.
• We will work with schools to provide 1-1 or group teaching for young people who are not attending school or for a variety or other reasons.
Mentoring
• We have a number of different packages available, all are 1-1 with an assigned mentor
• We work on a referral system whereby young people are referred to us on a termly agreement (request a copy of the referral form)
• A bespoke plan will be created with the young person and shared with school and the young persons family
• An update will be provided to school at the mid way point followed by a report at the end of the plan
• Interventions to support young people around the following;
• Engagement in education
• Conflict management
• Team work
• Digital Literacy/ Online Safety
• Developing social and communication skills
• Anger management
• Future career and enterprise
• Regulation strategies
• Crime awareness and prevention
Re-engagement to Learning
• We work on a referral system whereby young people are referred to us on a termly agreement
• Our staff will visit the home of the young person who is persistently absent or identified as having anxiety based school avoidance
• Our staff will plan a program that gradually entices the young person out of their home to their school, Innovation Education or a community facility,
• If the school/academy and young person require the teaching of a National Curriculum subject then this can be arranged (please see the online tutoring section)
•A plan will be created to support the young person to attend Innovation Education or to reintegrate them into their school
• Homework will be set once a week
•There will be two careers events every academic year that young people and their families can attend
•We will work closely with the young person's school and provide regular updates to ensure that our young people thrive and meet their full potential
Staff Development and CPD
Innovation Education can provide bespoke training and outreach support to Local Authorities, academies and schools in the following areas;
• How to improve behaviour for individuals, cohorts or whole school
• How to engage the hard to reach learner
• How to engage learners who have Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
• Prevent agenda
• Gang and knife crime awareness talks and workshops
• Team building and well-being workshops
Outreach Support
• Pastoral review to identify areas of training need within the SEND/pastoral support (1 or 2 day packages)
• Behaviour review to identify areas of training and provide recommendations. (1 or 2 day packages)
• Individual student consultation to review support and provide a report detailing observations and recommendations
